Riding + Learning with Horses

Learning, Growth & Connection

Riding + Learning with Horses, known as Equine Assisted Learning (EAL),  builds life skills, confidence, and community.

Through immersive equine experiences, Windwalkers creates opportunities for mindful interactions with horses to help participants build confidence, emotional awareness, and connection while developing leadership, responsibility, and personal growth.  Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Participants also learn horsemanship skills such as grooming, leading, horse care, and understanding horse behavior.

Mounted & Unmounted Experiences

Programs may include both mounted and unmounted activities, depending on participant goals, abilities, and needs.

Mounted equine learning allows participants to experience leadership, awareness, and communication while riding. Riders practice balance, focus, and coordination while learning how their body language, energy, and decisions influence the horse’s movement and response. These experiences help build confidence, responsibility, and trust while strengthening the horse–human partnership.

Unmounted activities take place on the ground alongside the horse and may include grooming, leading, obstacle work, and guided interaction. These activities support self-awareness, communication, emotional regulation, and relationship-building while teaching foundational horsemanship skills.

Together, mounted and unmounted experiences create meaningful opportunities for learning, growth, and connection with horses, others, and the natural world.

Who Can Participate

Equine Assisted Learning is designed for all children, teens, adults, and groups.
